Taster / Freestyle / Intermediate


Saturdays 10:30am-11am

Open water swimming taster sessions are designed to give you an insight to open water swimming, the equipment needed to keep you safe and the dangers to look out for when out and about. Sessions are 30 minutes long and run for the majority of the year.


Wednesdays 6pm-7pm

Open water swimming intermediate sessions are aimed at anyone who has taken part in a taster session or for those who would like some extra guidance and feels confident to explore lake 2. Over the hour you will explore different parts of lake 1 and 2, picking up various open water skills. The session is also a great way to boost your swimming fitness.



You may have tried and failed to learn to swim freestyle (front crawl) before. Maybe you can’t stand putting your face in the water or could do with a confidence boost. Perhaps you can swim a short distance of freestyle but get frustrated that you can’t get your breathing right. We can help you learn good freestyle technique in a friendly environment, in our small supportive group sessions.

– All swimmers must wear a brightly coloured swim hat and tow buoy –

– We advise easy slip on shoes for walking around site –

– Changing rooms and toilets are available onsite –

– Heaters are available in the cafe during colder months –
